Eggenberg palace, our second UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, is located in the west of Graz and is within easy reach of the city centre. It provides a splendid example of the baroque style from the early 17th century. A walk through the beautifully tended English-style gardens, the symbolically designed planetary garden, the richly decorated state rooms and the impressive coin collection bear testimony to the extensive wealth and influence of this relatively short-lived but remarkable Eggenberg dynasty.
